Phloem: In
vascular plants, phloem is the living tissue that carries organic nutrients
(known as photosynthate), in particular, sucrose, a sugar, to all parts of the
plant where needed.
Function:
Transportation of food and nutrients from leaves to storage organs and growing
parts of plant.
Xylem: is
one of the two types of transport tissue in vascular plants (phloem is the
other).
Function:
Water and mineral transport from roots to aerial parts of the plant.
